Pleasantville softball swept a tournament in New Sharon on Saturday winning 9-7 against North Mahaska and 9-8 against Twin Cedars. Traci Kunze had a three hit three RBI game in game one, and Bailey Oliva pitched six innings for the win. In game two, freshman Corinne Thomas homered and drove in four to lead Pleasantville in a comeback victory. The win means the Trojans have won four of their last five to bring their record to 9-7 on the season. They next play Tuesday at home against Martensdale-St Mary’s. The Pleasantville baseball team also got off to a hot start in their tournament Saturday, as they beat Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont 14-4. The second game was called due to lightning. Josh Luna had three home runs in their win over the Rockets. Pleasantville is currently 16-3 on the season, and begin another busy week starting Monday at Lenox.
