Losing a healthy amount of seniors from a team that won the Class 1A state baseball championship nearly ten months ago, Twin Cedars has not missed a beat in 2015, and they continued that trend with another pair of wins at the Wayne tourney. Game one went the Sabers’ way, 7 – 3, over Moravia. Colton Spaur earned the win, going the complete game and scattering seven hits. Otis Roby had a solo shot and a triple, going 3-for-4 at the plate. Spencer McCarty also had two hits in the win. Offense was on display for both teams for the Sabers and host Falcons, but Twin Cedars still came away with an 11 – 8 win. Sabers’ softball fell to Oskaloosa 10 – 0 and 11 – 0 to Pella Christian. Saber softball falls to 2 – 5 this year, the baseball team swells their record to 6 – 0. The boys are off until Tuesday when they head to Tri-County, and the girls play host to Wayne on Monday.
