Stepping out of the conference for a night, the Melcher-Dallas softball team hung with a bigger school in I-35, but ultimately came up short, 8 – 0. Coach Nick Ellis tells KNIA/KRLS Sports the younger players are making some mistakes but the entire team is starting to battle with the larger teams. Twin Cedars lost to Wayne, 14 – 6. The Sabers pounded out 12 hits, but Coach Zack Dunkin says the defense must improve for them to be more competitive. Melcher-Dallas plays Murray tonight, and the Sabers play Tri-County this evening.
