Eventually, it had to come to an end at some point. For the first time since August 1, 2013, the Twin Cedars baseball team dropped a varsity contest. The Sabers fell to a very strong Davis County team, 9 – 5, to break up a 43-game winning streak. Otis Roby threw four innings, allowing just one unearned run while striking out nine. Trace Embray took the loss, with five earned runs given up, on three hits and five walks. Spencer McCarty went 2-for-4 at the dish with 2 RBIs, Roby contributed a double, and Marty Beary had a single. Melcher-Dallas softball fell 9 – 0 to Centerville. Saber baseball falls to 7 – 1, Saints’ softball is 4 – 10. Twin Cedars plays at home against Martensdale – St. Mary’s on Monday, and Melcher goes up against Moravia.
