Only nine strokes off the lead and sitting in fourth place when they stepped foot onto the Ames Golf and Country Course yesterday morning, the Trojans stumbled out of the blocks and settled for a fifth place finish in Class 1A. Pleasantville had a 376 in round one, but shot 22 strokes worse in round two, while the top of the field stayed fairly consistent with what they scored on Monday. Junior Hannah Gordon scored 179 for the tourney, good for fifth place individually and all-state honors. Bailey Oliva put up a 190 for second-best on the Trojans’ squad. They graduate just one senior, Alli Friday, from the varsity team.
