The Pella City Council will hold the final reading of an ordinance for a water rate increase at their meeting Tuesday.
They will then look to approve the proposed 7% increase, which would go into effect in September. The additional revenue will be used to help finance more than $16 million in proposed improvements to the city’s water system. The council will also have a second reading of a proposed ordinance to increase the allowable size of drive thru menu signs. The meeting begins at 7 p.m. inside the Public Safety Complex on Liberty Street.
