A Colfax man is accused of stealing equipment from a vehicle from the Red Rock Marina.

Chad Cheek, 33, has been charged with 2nd degree theft, a class D felony. According to court records, Cheek was seen on video assisting with the theft of a vehicle and equipment from a structure near the Marina. While in custody, Cheek told a Marion County Deputy that he was unaware the vehicle was stolen, and claims his brother took it and parked it in a field near a gravel road. Cheek’s theft charge stems from a stolen generator and air compressor worth a combined $2200. He has a preliminary court hearing on Friday.
