A talented senior class, though small, has left the Central women’s basketball program, which leaves spots open for returning players, and even incoming freshmen, to step up and compete for the oodles of minutes of playing time for Coach Chelsea Petersen. This means practices will be intense when they start up late in the fall, and Coach Petersen says it’s an opportunity for all of her players to show the coaching staff what they’ve got and give them reasons why they are worthy of those valuable minutes on the court. Petersen says that one of the best parts of coaching is that when leaders graduate, it forces others to step into leadership roles. The Dutch tip-off their 2015-16 season in November.
