Marion County Extension Director Dale Miller says the recent flooding has had an impact on crops around the county.

Miller says issues with weeds and insects are a primary concern. He says farmers need to get into their fields as soon as possible to assess weed pressures, insect issues, and possible disease situations that can occur, if the weather stays in a cool, wet trend.

Miller says it will be some time before they know what kind of impact the flooding has had on this year’s crop yields.
