Heavy rains hit Marion County Monday afternoon, and as of 6:30 P.M. nearly 2.5 inches of rain has been recorded.

Mid-afternoon, approximately 125 people in Marion County were without power, with most of them in Pleasantville. Roadways in Knoxville were flooded over the curb, and there were reports of trees down in Knoxville and rural Marion County. Vehicles were stalled on Lincoln in Knoxville due to street flooding. A flash flood warning is in effect, and English Creek is over its bank by over a foot, and other waterways have risen, and many are beginning to recede. The Marion County Secondary Roads Department tells KNIA/KRLS News multiple gravel roadways were flooded from Pleasantville to Bussey. Staff are inventorying damage to area roadways, and the inventory will continue Tuesday. The photo above shows the damage on 218th Place by G71 near Bussey.
