Up and down the Iowa Conference in women’s soccer last year, you couldn’t look at a specific match-up and say, “That team is going to get blown out by so-and-so.” The two teams at the bottom of the league, Buena Vista and Simpson, though they did not have a tally in the win column, still made it tough on their opponents each time out on the pitch. Simpson pushed the Dutch to double overtime in their conference game late in the season, and both the Beavers and Storm stayed mostly right with teams in the top half of the conference. Coach Mike Kobylinski says the 2015 season will be no different.
Men’s coach, Garry Laidlaw, says there are several teams in their league that are worthy of Division I competition, and should remain competitive as it has the last several years.
