The Knoxville Baseball Squad held its awards banquet last night. All nine seniors shared in being named team captains and all were voted team M-V-P. Golden Glove winners were Austin Little, Nolan Wallace, Tony Salato, Kevin Woodhouse, and Jared McClung. The Coaches Inspirational Player Award went to Tanner Sharp. Salato and Woodhouse shared the batting champion award and Cam Liston took home the pitcher of the year. Also recognized for their great seasons were: Woodhouse, who hit 529 this season and had 183 career hits, both put him in second place in the record book in both categories. Salato hit 525 this season, which put him fourth all-time for a single season and set career records for the lowest strikeout percentage and most career saves. Coach Joel Johnson tells KNIA/KRLS Sports the nine seniors gave everything they had to the program. The Panthers finished 2015 with a 28-6 record and 17-1 in the South Central Conference and were S-C-C champions.
