Knocking off a ranked-Knoxville to get here, Pella High softball continues their journey towards Fort Dodge tonight with a game against No. 2-ranked Indianola in the Class 4A regional semifinals. The bats have come alive for the Lady Dutch as of late; they are the eighth best offensive team in Class 4A, with a .340 average, and a .408 on-base percentage. The 33 – 7 Indians, though, also can slug the ball. They have a .334 team batting clip, lead Class 4A in runs scored, hits, doubles, home runs, and RBI. An aggressive approach may be one we see from the Lady Dutch, says head coach, Krista DeMeulenaere. Indianola and Pella’s pitching staffs have the eighth and ninth lowest team ERA this year, respectively. Tonight’s regional semifinal can be heard live on 92.1 KRLS and KNIAKRLS.com. Garrett Knock will man the play-by-play. Pre-game coverage will begin immediately following Pella Christian baseball at around 6:45 p.m.
