They had to do everything they could to focus on the next game this past week. They had to endure another pair of postponements on Saturday, but finally, Pella High baseball captured their first ever Little Hawkeye Conference regular season crown with a doubleheader sweep of Oskaloosa. The Dutch won 5 – 1 and 7 – 1 in the twin billing. Grant Judkins threw a one-hitter in game one, while Tyler Hillman had three hits. Tanner Wood was the winning pitcher in game two, hurling a four-hitter and striking out six. Hillman had another three hits and drove in four runs, and Landon VanderLeest was 2-for-4 with an RBI triple. Judkins at the plate was a combined 0 – 0; he walked eight times, three of them intentionally, and only saw two strikes for the entire night. The Little Dutch are 28 – 4, and they take on Perry this Monday, and A-D-M on Tuesday to conclude their regular season.
