Pella High ended their 2015 baseball regular season with a close win over A-D-M on Tuesday night, 3 – 2. The game was scoreless through five, and A-D-M was the team that broke the ice with a single run in the sixth. More heroics from Grant Judkins in the bottom half, however, helped push the Little Dutch along. Judkins had an RBI single to tie the game, followed by a two-run double from Marcus Wittmer to give Pella just enough cushion for the victory. Wittmer stranded the tying run at second to earn his seventh save of the year in relief of Lucas Hileman, who threw six strong to improve to 7 – 1 on the season. Pella as a team finishes the regular season with a 30 – 4 record, and they begin preparations for Fort Madison and the opener of the Class 3A district tournament in Fairfield this Friday night.
