Wrapping up play a bit early before the holiday weekend, the Pella High baseball team clobbered Centerville last night by a final score of 17 – 6. The Little Dutch pounded 20 hits, 1/4 of them were triples; Grant Judkins had three of them in a 4-for-5 night at the plate, Landon Vander Leest had a three-bagger, while going 4-for-5 and driving in four runs, Marcus Wittmer had two hits and knocked home four, and Avery Van Zee was 3-for-5 with a triple and two RBI. Pella improves to 22 – 4 on the year, and they’re off until Monday for a showdown for a Little Hawkeye Conference regular season championship with Oskaloosa.
