Highway G71 damage

The work orders are pouring in now that waters have receded and most of the roads closed due to flooding in Marion County have reopened.

Marion County Engineer Tyler Christian says preliminary estimates have the cost of the flood damage to be over $300,000.

There have already been 70 work orders called into the Secondary Roads Department and Christian expects that figure to top 100 over the next couple of days. He anticipates getting things back to normal in about three to four weeks.
