The PCM softball has gotten hot at the right point of the season, as they have won their last 11 of 13 games. The Lady Mustangs are just one step away from that covenant state berth with victories over Davis County and Bondurant-Farrar in post season play. PCM is hitting .307 as a team and the pitching staff and defense had been solid, as opponents are hitting just .180 and the pitching staff has an ERA of 2.60. The components are there for the Mustangs to make it to state, but standing in their way if no. 1 ranked Solon. Head coach Whitney Plein has been beyond happy with how her team has performed and they are ready for and won’t back down from any challenge. The PCM softball team will take on the Solon Spartans in the regional final on Monday night at Grinnell with the first pitch at 7 p.m.
