The Pella Christian softball team continued to build momentum from a recent series of big wins in a pair of blowouts against Grinnell on Wednesday.

The Eagles won the first game 12-2 in five innings and the second contest 8-2. Pella Christian slammed the door shut and walked off against the Tigers with a six-run 5th inning, highlighted by five consecutive two out hits in the rain make-up.

Senior Tessa Howeryzl was 3/4 with two runs scored. Courtney Johannes, Kirsten Vander Hart and Chloe Dembski each added two hits.

Game two featured three “crooked numbers” in innings for the Eagles, and the scoring started early with a three-run first. Natalie Vos earned her fourth win of the season and Howerzyl continued with her hot swinging, going 2/3 in the second game with two runs scored.

The Eagles are now 21-8 on the season and hit the road to take on conference foe Dallas Center Grimes tonight. Andrew Schneider will have the call live on 92.1 KRLS and kniakrls.com, with pregame starting at approximately 7:15 p.m.
