Revenge, extra motivation, a growing rivalry. All of these clichés could be used to describe the upcoming game against Twin Cedars on Monday for Pleasantville Baseball. The Sabers knocked the Trojans out of postseason play last year on a walk-off home run from Coy Moore on their way to a state title, in what many considered to be a matchup of two of the top teams in 1A. But for this Pleasantville team, you would never know it was anything other than another game. The Trojans, who are currently on a 19-game win streak, simply take it one game at a time. Head Coach Sheldon Card said that is the only attitude they are taking into this game. Guys like ZebAdreon, who is batting .582 on the season and has a perfect 8-0 pitching record, or Josh Luna who is batting .452 and leads Class 1A in home runs with 11, have the excuse to try and take a day off. However, this Pleasantville team knows what it’s like to lose to a state champion. They know what it takes if you want to be at the top. They faced a champion last year, and they go against them again on Monday. You can hear the call live on KNIAKRLS.com via our KNIA3 stream, with Andrew Swadner providing the play-by-play. Pre-game coverage is set to begin at 5:15 p.m. with first pitch at 5:30.
