Pleasantville has advanced to the Class 1A State Championship Game with a 6-3 win over North Linn!

Sticking with the tried and true formula, Junior Zeb Adreon got the start on the mound and pitched six innings for the win. The Trojan offense scored runs in each of the first five innings, highlighted by a two run bomb by Adreon to blow the game wide open in favor of the Trojans in the fourth.

Despite strong strikeout numbers from Adreon, the young and scrappy Lynx of North Linn managed to put several runs across the board in the early innings, fighting back from several one run deficits to tie the score at two in the third, but wouldn’t manage to put another run across the board until it was too late. With the Trojans holding a 6-2 lead heading into the seventh the Lynx started minor rally, which prompted Pleasantville Head Coach Sheldon Card to have no hesitation in bringing in proverbial playoff closer Josh Luna into the game.

Coach Card said after the game despite a couple of mistakes he was happy with the way his team reacted to the pressure.

With the win the Trojans will now play powerhouse and four time state champion in number one seed Newman Catholic at 11:00 a.m. tomorrow in the State Championship game. You can hear it live on 92.1 KRLS and KNIAKRLS.com with Garrett Knock and Andrew Swadner.
