The Little Hawkeye Conference was well represented in Fort Dodge at the state softball tournament last week. Dallas Center-Grimes won the Class 4A title, and Pella High finished fourth. Though they didn’t make it, both Oskaloosa and Norwalk both had strong seasons and easily could have been playing for a championship, too. Another team that also had an unexpected exit from the playoffs was Pella Christian, who was ranked as high as second in Class 2A and held their own in a loaded conference. Pulling off some big wins throughout the regular season, Coach Karen Harrill says it was a huge accomplishment for her Eagles just to finish in the middle of the pack. With only two seniors gone when 2016 rolls around, expect the Eagles to challenge for a league title in another competitive L-H-C race.
