What ended up being just a formality, the Twin Cedars baseball team took care of Southeast Warren in the district semifinals yesterday, 13 – 1 in seven innings. The big blow was a seven-run sixth inning that put the game out of reach and made the score 10 – 1 in favor of the Sabers. Trace Embray threw six frames to get the win, striking out ten while allowing the one run on three hits. Noah Peterson, Otis Roby, and McCarty each had multi-hit games at the plate. The win sets up a huge rematch on Saturday between two teams that met in last year’s district final, as Pleasantville comes to Bussey for the 2015 district championship. Coy Moore hit a walk-off blast in the seventh to send the Sabers home a winner a year ago.
