Trying to rekindle some of the burning flame that took the Central men’s basketball team to the 2014 NCAA Division III National Tournament, Coach Craig Douma and the staff had to adjust their attack due to the amount of talent that had left the program.

Much like the Golden State Warriors from the NBA, the Dutch put up literally as many shots from beyond the arc as they did from two-point range. Central attempted 250 more three’s than their opponents over the course of the season, but unfortunately, still made the same percentage as their foes. Douma says some injuries early on forced them to change their focus offensively.

With the higher-value shots, Central set program records for points in a game (132 against Nebraska Wesleyan last November), most three-pointers made in a game (20 against Martin Luther in December), and most players making a triple (eight of them, also against Martin Luther).
