An area man faces numerous charges after he was arrested for violating his probation.

The Knoxville Police Department arrested 29-year-old Aaron Vanderheiden and charged him with interference with official acts and possession with intent to deliver, a class D felony. According to court documents, Vanderheiden fled from police during a Mid-Iowa Narcotics Enforcement Task Force investigation of a vehicle. A warrant was out for his arrest after he failed to meet with a probation officer in late June. Vanderheiden pled guilty last year to third degree burglary, a class D Felony, for a September 2014 incident in Pella and to possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine, for a June arrest. He received a suspended five year prison sentence for the burglary charge and one year of suspended jail time for the possession charge.
