Cedar Rapids Prairie was the venue for the first cross country meet of the season involving Pella High on Saturday. Amongst some larger and smaller schools, both the Dutch boys’ and girls’ teams fared well for meet number one. The Lady Dutch were third in their division and eighth overall, scoring 66 points, which was just one point behind Marion. Ciara Buchheit and Tess Roorda finished 5-6 in the field with times of 20:50 and 20:55, respectively. Pella’s boys came out second in their division and sixth overall with a score of 48 points in their group. Mount Vernon was the only team better, with a mark of 45. Adam Sievers took second with a 16:59 time, and Nick Bernhagen was sixth at 17:36. Pella will stay at home for their next run on Saturday at the Central College cross country course.
