More than 350 first-year students are beginning their collegiate experience at Central College this week.
Classes began on Wednesday for all students. Freshman Noelle Martin says she initially was against coming to campus because her parents are alumni, but warmed up to the idea when another family member showed her more of what they had to offer.
“When I first visited Central, I really didn’t want to go here because my parents went here, so it was a big turnoff,” she says. “But, one of my older cousins worked in admissions and he showed me around and he loved Central.”
“I realized it was a really good fit with the study abroad, and I realized there were some really good opportunities there and that was really important to me, so it really ended up falling into place.”
She plans to major in Spanish and take pre-law courses.
