Red Rock Hydro Construction 8-20-15

Work has been completed on a 240-foot diaphragm wall at the Red Rock Hydroelectric Project.

Vern Cochran with Missouri River Energy Services says it is designed to hold back the existing earthen dam on the upstream side and provide a channel for water to enter an intake structure that will send water to the hydroelectric turbine. Ames Construction has also completed installation of a support structure on the downstream side, which is designed to ensure stability of the dam during excavation for the powerhouse. Missouri River Energy Services estimates that the project is nearly 28 percent complete, and is still on track for completion in 2018.
