Class 2A Pella Christian had to put their heads down and weather the storm of one of the more difficult Class 3A baseball conferences this past season. Pella High and Dallas Center – Grimes played each other tough in the state tournament opener, Oskaloosa didn’t go down without a fight to the Little Dutch in the substate game, and Newton also had a successful year. The Eagles didn’t grab a win their first time through the slate of league games, but picked up big victories in their return trip, with a “W” over Newton, Oskaloosa, Norwalk, and Grinnell. Coach Nate Johnson says it’s a testament to his guys’ drive to never say die. PC finished the season with a 14 – 19 record.
