A first-week rivalry became lopsided when the Pella Christian Eagles toppled the PCM Mustangs 48-11 in a game heard live on 92.1 KRLS and KNIAKRLS.com.

The David Kacmarynski-led Eagles offense was a well-oiled machine, racking up more than 500 yards of total offense before the reserves came in. The Eagles junior had 355 yards passing and 7 total touchdowns.

His connection to Levi Jungling was better than ever, as the receiver racked up 312 yards on 11 catches and scored five times. Pella Christian Head Coach Rich Kacmarynski says the two kicked off the season in a big way.

“They really worked hard in the offseason, they were quite the combination last year, and have picked up from where they left off last year,” Kacmarynski says.

Turnovers did the Mustangs in again for the second year in a row, as Senior Logan Gilman tossed four interceptions. Head Coach Greg Bonnett says despite the loss he was still able to find positives in how his team played.

The Pella Christian Eagles are 1-0 on the season and next travel to Lynnville-Sully, and 0-1 PCM will host Central Decatur in their home-opener.
