More awards were racked up by the Pella High baseball team after their deep run during the 2015 season. Four players were chosen to the All-District team for the Class 3A Southeast District. Picked to the first team were Grant Judkins and Tanner Wood. The Dutch tandem was one of the more effective 1-2 punches on the bump and at the plate. They combined for a 17 – 2 pitching record and a .429 batting average. Lucas Hileman and Marcus Wittmer were both selected as second team All-District players. Hileman, as a junior, was 7 – 1 on the mound, with a 1.19 ERA, walking only nine batters in 47 innings pitched. Wittmer didn’t make any starts, but was Pella’s seventh inning man, compiling seven saves and 0.86 ERA in 16+ innings thrown. Pella went 34 – 5 during the 2015 season.
