The Marion County Fair Board made no decision on finding a replacement for former Knoxville Raceway General Manager Brian Stickel, but did name two people to fill-in for the rest of racing season.
Fair Board President Dennis Haselhuhn told KNIA/KRLS News that John McCoy was named interim promoter and Gary Schumacher interim business manager during a special closed session Tuesday.
Stickel resigned in protest on August 3rd after the Fair Board decided to put an approximately $7.4 million raceway expansion project on hold.
Haselhuhn says further discussion on finding Stickel’s replacement will occur over the next several weeks.
