The newest member of the Knoxville Police Department is expected take the oath before the city council Monday.
26-year-old Officer Skylar Verros has been selected to begin training with the police department this week.
Verros is a Pella High graduate, who served in the U.S. Army for six years. He most recently worked as a dispatcher for the Pella Police Department.
Verros is expected to be sworn-in by Mayor Brian Hatch during the regular Knoxville City Council meeting.
It will take place at City Hall beginning at 6:15pm and can be heard on AM 1320 and FM 95.3 KNIA.
