Groundbreaking_Shovel_2014

It’s been one year since ground broke at the Lake Red Rock hydroelectric construction site.

Vern Cochran with Missouri River Energy Services tells KNIA/KRLS News that both the upstream and downstream sides of the dam have been transformed by Ames Construction crews. He says work is nearly complete on the diaphragm wall on the upstream side, which will eventually channel water into the intake structure.

The plant is expected to open for operation in early 2018, and will generate enough power for up to 18,000 homes. We have more about the project on Let’s Talk Pella.
