The Knoxville School Board approved their list of legislative priorities for the 2016 session.

Superintendent Cassi Murra says their priorities will be setting school funding at an appropriate level by the date in law, repealing the sunset date for the statewide penny sales tax, repealing the current school board election law and go back to three-year terms, continuing support of early literacy funding, and supporting educational reform.

Murra hopes they’ll have the cooperation of the Iowa House and Senate to move these items forward. The legislative items will be forwarded to the Iowa School Board Association.
