The last we saw of them, they were parading the 2014 Class 3A State Football Championship Trophy around the UNI Dome and the Pella High gymnasium. Tonight, the 2015 guys in green will debut with their eyes focuses on a repeat, when Washington comes to town. The Little Dutch have had Washington’s number of late, with their only loss in the last three years coming in the state quarterfinals back in 2013. Coach Jay McKinstrey says the way they started the school year trickled down throughout the hallways, into the winter and all the way to the summer. Washington is without their quarterback, Daryn Sebelius; Jacob Hennigan, their leading rusher; and Thomas Bump, their top tackler and receiver. You can hear tonight’s game streamed live at KNIAKRLS.com and on our free mobile app with Cory Houser and Randy Sikkema on the play-by-play.
