Much like the start of the 2014 football season, the first offensive play for Pella High was a passing touchdown last night, as the Little Dutch decimated Washington, 42 – 24. The Dutch “D” held the Demons without a first down for the opening 12 minutes, while the offense scored on their first four possessions. Coach Jay McKinstrey says that it was just the start they were hoping for. Noah Clayberg wound up with two passing and two rushing touchdowns, and gained a total of 239 yards. Nathan Henry had 86 yards on the ground for a touchdown, and also kicked an extra point in the second half. Pella High begins the season 1 – 0, and they’ll take on the No. 2-ranked team in Class 3A, Dallas Center-Grimes on the road next Friday night.
