Blaine Forsythe Pella

Many new faces are in classrooms this week as kids come back to school.

Pella High and Central Graduate Blaine Forsythe is now a 6th grade teacher at Jefferson Intermediate. Forsythe says he was fortunate to begin his teaching career in Pella immediately following college.

“Pella’s just a great community academically, athletically–just anything I’m looking for in a town, I think Pella has it all,” Forsythe says. “To come back here, and actually land a job in my first year of teaching was a dream come true.”

He says he has met many teachers he’s previously had as a student, which means his educational experience is coming full circle.

“There are some teachers that I had that are still here, and there are some new ones, so I think it creates a really good culture for the students,” Forsythe says. “You have veteran teachers, and you also have some new teachers, and just to learn from them and to grow from them is a really good thing.”

“I think we can do a lot in the world of education to impact these kids and get them ready for their future.”

Forsythe is one of six new teachers in the Pella Community School District.
