Pella School Board Vice President Timothy Tripp is running to keep his seat unopposed in the September 8th elections.

Tripp says his ultimate goal is to serve the community and to take what he’s learned in the past four years and apply that experience when making decisions in the future. He plans to urge lawmakers in Des Moines to provide schools adequate funding, which is a major challenge the district will face in the next few years.

“I look to the governor, I look to our state senators and representatives in terms of their contribution, their need to be more actively concerned about public schools and making certain that any programs that they do put forward–such as the governor’s proposals in the past, that those are fully funded to the complete ability for our schools to make certain that we can accomplish what we need,” Tripp says.

Tripp enjoys working with the current board, which he says provides a wide range of perspectives.

“It’s been exciting, in terms of the ways we work together as individuals, as well as what we bring professionally to the board,” he says.
