Equivalent to what the NCAA honors with the Capital One Cup, Pella High finished second out of medium-sized schools in the All-Sports Standings for the 2014-15 school year. Points are tabulated like a track meet, based on how each team finished on the state-wide scale. The Dutch were second to only Cedar Rapids Xavier, who tallied 42.5 points to edge Pella by two. One key difference is that the Saints feature varsity bowling, which earned them eight points, while Pella did not recognize bowling as a sport this past year. Interesting to note, there were very few sports that did not feature an athlete or team that competed on the state-wide stage. Pella earned points for football, boys’ and girls’ cross country, boys’ basketball, boys’ and girls’ track and field, girls’ soccer, baseball, and softball. Medium schools were considered be ones with 350 – 799 students.
