For the first time in Pleasantville Head Coach Gabe Bakker’s tenure the Trojans start the season off with a win as they defeated the Colfax-Mingo Tigerhawks 16-7. Persistent rain throughout the game put a damper on both offenses, but it was a pair of touchdown passes by Pleasantville QB Zeb Adreon that made the difference in the game. The Trojans took advantage of the inclement weather by utilizing their power running game in the second half relying on starting running back Sawyer Phillips to eventually run the clock out. Pleasantville Head Coach Gabe Bakker told KNIA/KRLS Sports after the game that he is proud of the way his team played and the way they used the 21-0 loss the Tigerhawks handed them from last year as motivation. Pleasantville will bring their 1-0 record to their home field next week as they will face off with Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont in a game that can be heard live on KNIAKRLS.com via the KNIA3 stream.
