A recent stretch of wet weather has slowed some construction at Pella schools.

Superintendent Greg Ebeling says the wet month of July delayed a big portion of concrete work at the Lincoln Elementary and Jefferson Intermediate facilities. He says crews need a longer stretch of dry weather to ensure that new drop-off lanes at both schools will be done by the first week of classes. Ebeling says the teacher parking lot at Lincoln planned for August has been put on hold so that playground and traffic flow improvements could be made in time for school.
