The Small Schools East team opened up the 39th annual IHSBCA All-Star Series with a 10-6 loss to the Large Schools East team last night. Tony Salato was the starting catcher and leadoff hitter for Small East. He went 1-3 at the plate and scored a run. Otis Roby also went 1-3 at the plate with a run and RBI driving in Salato to start a 5 run 4th inning rally that gave their team a 5-2 lead. Roby and Kevin Woodhouse both pitched in relief – neither factored in the decision. The Small Schools West team hung on for a 5 – 4 win over the Large Schools West squad. Josh Luna from Pleasantville had an RBI single in the fourth to help the team out. The Small East team is back in action on Friday vs. the Large West squad, while the Small West gang will play the Large East kids.
