Three players from three different teams that all had impressive seasons were chosen to the 2015 Academic All-State Team. Chosen to the first team was senior Otis Roby from Twin Cedars. Roby was also named to the All-State team on Tuesday. The Saber hit .566 in his final season, with ten doubles, five triples, and three homers, to go along with a 7 – 2 record on the mound and a 0.89 ERA where he struck out 142 batters in just 62 and 2/3 innings pitched. Cassin Garr from Pleasantville was a second team Academic All-State selection. Garr hit .345, walked 31 times and scored 47 runs for the Trojans, who finished runners-up in the Class 1A state tournament. Catcher Jason Morgan from Pella was also a second-teamer. Morgan had a .985 fielding percentage, committing just four errors on the season, and threw out nearly 37% of runners that were trying to steal. To make the Academic All-State Team, players are nominated by their coaches for demonstrating outstanding academic, moral, and athletic characteristics.
