With the state of Iowa being the only state in the country that does their baseball and softball seasons at the high school level during the summer, it presents positive opportunities for college coaches in and out of the state when it comes to recruiting. Trying to maintain the success the program has seen over the past half-decade, Central baseball skipper, Matt Schirm, has been able to take advantage of the unique scheduling and go out and see teams from all over The Hawkeye State. Schirm adds that he’s also been able to go out of state to see some camps where kids come and do one-day workouts as coaches gather names of potential prospects. The Dutch finished 22 – 21 overall this year and third place in the Iowa Conference.
