For now the third straight week, one of our local teams will be involved in a headline “main event” featuring two ranked teams, when Pella High heads northwest to Norwalk for Class 3A district football contest. Tonight’s game will feature two of the best quarterbacks in the state in 3A; Noah Clayberg has surprisingly passed for more touchdowns than he has using his legs, throwing seven up to this point while punching in four. Clayberg has a combined 686 of total offense. The 3 – 0 Warriors feature Brady Brandsfield, who has thrown for 583 yards and rushed for another 219. However, the Norwalk QB has thrown five interceptions thus far. Coach Jay McKinstrey says Brandsfield has really elevated his game since his debut two years ago. Tonight’s big district game can be heard live on 92.1 KRLS and via our free KRLS mobile app with Cory Houser and Randy Sikkema on the play-by-play. Our pre-game coverage is set to begin at 7:00 p.m. with kick-off at 7:30. The 2-1 Pella Christian football team is shaking off the dust from a Blue Demon rout last week, and return home tonight to try and right the ship against a rushing attack that has given their defense fits in years past.
