Even without two All-Iowa Conference runners taking part, the Central men’s cross country team still wound up in second place at their home meet on Saturday. Mark Fairley for the Dutch was the individual cross country champ, with a time of 26:39. Central had 79 points total, behind only Loras, who had 21. Central’s women placed all five runners in the top 23 to wind up with 66 points. Loras won the meet with 43, Grinnell had 54. Holly McKinney stole the show for the Dutch, coming in third at 25:22. Central is off next week before returning to the course on the 19th for the St. Olaf Invitational in Minnesota.
