Almost being up-ended by winless Grinnell, the Central volleyball team scrapped together a win last night in five sets over the Pioneers, 25 – 16, 20 – 25, 25 – 20, 21 – 25, and 15 – 5. The Dutch hit just .091 and .080 in the first two sets, but finished strong, hitting .237 the final three games. Jenna Dille led Central with 11 kills, Mollie Mason had ten, and Nicole Ewoldt and Emily McDonald each finished with eight. Central improves to 9 – 2 on the season, and they will get back to conference play this Tuesday in Dubuque against the Spartans.
