As many of our high school teams got their first games out of the way over the last eight days, the Central volleyball and men’s and women’s soccer teams will step onto their respective playing fields against opponents for their first taste of action this evening. The Dutch volleyball team, hoping to make some strides with a youthful group and a dynamic offense, open up at home against Monmouth at 7:00 p.m. Over on the pitch, it’s a women’s/men’s doubleheader, as Central hosts Nebraska Wesleyan at 3:00 and 5:00 p.m., respectively. The Dutch football team also begins play this Saturday at home against Benedictine, and the start time for that game has been pushed back to 6:30 p.m.
