In the midst of Pella’s 42 – 11 win over Knoxville last Friday, Little Dutch quarterback, Noah Clayberg, made yet another video-game-style play, something that has become his M.O. since taking over the offense in 2013. Clayberg was trying to gather a botched snap, and ended up picking the ball up off the grass and scampered for a 37-yard rushing touchdown in the second quarter. What transpired had teammates, the Panthers, and the Dutch coaching staff shaking their heads in disbelief. Coach Jay McKinstrey says it just goes to show, as the late Yogi Berra put it, a play “ain’t over ‘til it’s over.” There are only six undefeated teams left in the state in Class 3A, with five of them holding a 5 – 0 mark. The Little Dutch will battle an intense, physical Carlisle gang at home for Week Six this Friday night.
